"Right....except the crash site is not in Japanese waters..."

"The fighter jet went missing around 7.30 pm (10.30 GMT) Tuesday as it was flying some 135 kilometres (85 miles) east of Misawa, northeastern Japan, on a training mission."

135 km/85 miles is WELL INSIDE Japan's waters.

Thanks for Google; enne?

Hopefully it is deep enough to make recovery impossible, like the MK43 1 megaton bomb in in the sea off Japan (109 km from Kikai Island Kagoshima) when an A-4E rolled off the deck of the USS Ticonderoga in 1965.

RIP The Pilot.

"But I thought Japan says China keeps intruding in their waters"

If that doesn't tell you that Japan can track them, even when they "fart", nothing else will do.

"I never seen anything blown to pieces so far."

Do they take anything during their "incursions" which normally happen just outside of the Senkakus waters anyway?! And if they do trespass is only for a few minutes before leaving again. All under the watch of Japan's coast guard.

Wait for them to try and retrieve the F35. Inside Japan's waters.

You don't actually believe that the Japanese deep search vessel and the US Van G "retired" due to incapability to finish the job. That they don't know where the plane is.

Maybe you do!

Good luck to China in penetrating, searching, finding, removing and then leaving Japanese waters without detection. And being blown to pieces too.

But I thought Japan says China keeps intruding in their waters. I never seen anything blown to pieces so far.

Who knows, maybe the reason why they can't find the missing F35 is because China already took it, lol.

Given they cannot move undetected even in international waters near the Senkakus, the odds are heavily stacked against them just off of the Aomori coast.

America is on the other side of the world. How about asking China and SK and NK to help search for the pilot and plane? They could of found him in time

Hahaha. Thanks, I needed that hearty laugh to start my day.

America is on the other side of the world.

Yeah, it's a shame the American military isn't stationed any close, like in Japan. Oh wait...

How about asking China and SK and NK to help search for the pilot and plane? They could of found him in time.

I hope this is sarcasm, but I just can't tell...

I guess stealth is all good for avoiding detection by the enemies, but in times like these, Lockheed Martin probably wishes that they had a normal 'find my F35' mode that can be engaged during training.

Something no one has touched on is whether the other 3 F35 has any data they could share, because supposedly MADL enables F35s to track each other.
