They should just have a permanent patrol of US and Japanese ships at these shoals.

Wars start with formation of coalitions, giving members courage to trade accusations, and we already have seen Serbia, Afghanistan, Syria, and Libya.

Good China needs to be stopped at all costs.

The Chinese pirates are at it again.

Conflict with the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, India, Korea and Japan.

China is the regional bully of Asia!!

Two Philippine security officials said the patrol was staged about 40 nautical miles (74 kilometers) from Scarborough Shoal,

Next month it will just be 39 miles away

The United States deployed a reconnaissance aircraft while Japan and the Philippines sent navy ships in a joint patrol in the disputed South China Sea on Friday

Deployed an aircraft?

Funny how the US administration is trying to hire as many Filipino fishermen as possible to mount a case against China. The big military industrial complex is anticipating end of business in Ukraine ($90 billions weapons orders so far), and since the devastation and mass killings in the Middle East is not enough ($20 billions weapons orders to Israel in 2024), the Deep state is trying to move to another market in Asia.

And in the meantime Wall Street, with the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite rose to new records

China belongs to Asia, whereas the United Stated of America is just selling weapons of mass destruction as explained above.

Defining China a “threat” is historically incorrect, unless you follow the narrative of the usuale suspects that define the alleged skirmished with Filipinos fishermen a danger to a sovereign nations

I like how the USA Navy is now the world sovereignty authority. Chagos Islanders say, 'hi'.

If you’re a Communist Sympathizer, your post can remain, but if you suggest a Merchant Marine Volunteer Corp be formed in response to these International Pirates, your comments get deleted

Just a reminder that in 1964, in Vietnam the US lied about the Gulf of Tonkin incident to drag the nation into a needless conflict.

This ain't propaganda from China or Russia

In no way justifies savagery against the Philippines or violating UNCLOS.

Still 1% of gdp.

China is feared in Asia, making the US extremely popular. Nothing alleged about video, damaged boats, and injured coast guardspeople.

Just a reminder that in 1964, in Vietnam the US lied about the Gulf of Tonkin incident to drag the nation into a needless conflict.

And I am sure that matters to something, just not China's reprehensible behavior in the SCS.

The US administration is not credible: too many lies perpetrated over the years to secure their interests. Asia likes peace and prosperity and China is the only country which can guarantee that. We don’t need warmongering by the Washington lobbies

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

And we don 't need China claiming the South China Sea as their private peoperty either.

And we don 't need China claiming the South China Sea as their private peoperty either

And your sources are random Filipino fishermen?

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

The US administration is not credible:

The Chinese administration is even less credible.

Asia likes peace and prosperity

Everyone does.

and China is the only country which can guarantee that.

But it fails at every turn because it claims ownership of international territory and the EEZ's of other nations illegally. This leaves the region in chaos dealing with Chinese piratical behavior by joining together in partnership to wrestle back the peace that China tries to bury.

Just a reminder that China's leader Xi specifically promised the world and US president Obama that China would never militarize the islands it built in the South China seas. Lies from the current leader!

China belongs to Asia, whereas the United Stated of America is just selling weapons of mass destruction

How amusing, as China acts like Asia belongs to China. And please let us know what weapons of mass destruction the US sells? Nuclear weapons, Biological or chemical weapons? And to whom. Links required.

No the sources are the built up islands, the grotesque size of the China boats, the videos, the damaged Filipino boats, and the wounded coast guardsmen. The savagery is real.

We don't need to keep believing the fake peaceful rise narrative.

That is history FYI

Of relevance to nothing but we can keep playing this game as long as you want.

keep playing this game as long as you want.

That's the main difference. It is not a game when people are in danger because the US administration is inciting conflict and wars. Lies are not made up: that is history like the one I've jest mentioned to you (The Gulf of Tonkin Incident). We are talking about depth and facts, not economic interests whose aim is to spread disinformation. That's why we are here. Truth comes before your personal gain

..... China promised would never militarize the islands it built in the South China seas

Again we need a bit more depth to those statements:

The US has over 800 overseas bases including in Guam, Diego Garcia, ROK and Japan that ring China.

The US fleet, with Japan, South Korea, Australia support, regularly patrols off the China coast.

Washington would have hysterics if Chinese vessels patrolled off the Californian coast and the Florida Keys. Or if China had B-52 type aircraft based in Mexico!

We are quoiting random and inconclusive sources, and the Gulf of Tonkin is a clear example what the US administration is capable of, to wage another war in the continent to appease their main lobbies.

As if the Ukraine war and the Middle East conflict are not enough, and guess who is involved economically in those two wars? Certainly not China.

A reminder that US administration sent $90 billions in weapons to Ukraine and another $20 billions to Israel in 2024 alone. Wall Street, with the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite rose to new records and the top 5 weapons manufacturers in the world are all American.

So how naive do you think people are in Asia?

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Again we need a bit more depth to those statements:

More depth? Promise made by Xi to world and Obama, then broken as Xi militarized the islands.

US bases are where they are welcomed and not all are military, many are scientific or NASA.

Washington would have hysterics if Chinese vessels patrolled off the Californian coast and the Florida Keys. Or if China had B-52 type aircraft based in Mexico!

No it wouldn't. Mexico is free to host anyone but as it has no need, it doesnt happen. Trouble is China's neighbors all have territorial disputes with China making it prudent for many to host US forces.

We are quoiting random and inconclusive sources

No, we are not.

Sending weapons to a nation fighting off an invasion is justified and moral, only pro Russians have issues with that, because Russia is the invader. However I do not agree with US arming Israel to conduct its genocide against Palestinians.

Still China's Aggression in the SCS.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

The anti-Beijing hysteria is clearly being led by the United States

Wrong, it is led by China itself with its hostile actions and belligerence towards those who's opinion differs to Beijing's.

We need to seek dialogue with China not sending billions and billions of weapons to Taiwan, South Korea, Japan. Look at what happened arming Israel and Ukraine.

No, China is not to be trusted under Xi's leadership, that leaves containment as the best viable option.

FosToday 03:11 pm JST

The US has over 800 overseas bases including in Guam, Diego Garcia, ROK and Japan that ring China.

And none of those are in the SCS. Go figure. Guam is US territory and Diego Garcia is no where near Peking.

The US fleet, with Japan, South Korea, Australia support, regularly patrols off the China coast.

Clearly not enough as China is able to pirate so much in the SCS and Taiwan strait.

Washington would have hysterics if Chinese vessels patrolled off the Californian coast and the Florida Keys. Or if China had B-52 type aircraft based in Mexico!

They are welcome to try, but we treat our neighbors right, unlike the CCP.

We are quoiting random and inconclusive sources, and the Gulf of Tonkin is a clear example what the US administration is capable of, to wage another war in the continent to appease their main lobbies.

Still not relevant to anything. Someone found a new bedtime story I guess.

As if the Ukraine war and the Middle East conflict are not enough, and guess who is involved economically in those two wars? Certainly not China.

China is profiting from russia and Iran, so definitely involved economically.

A reminder that US administration sent $90 billions in weapons to Ukraine and another $20 billions to Israel in 2024 alone.

Good for us.

Wall Street, with the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite rose to new records

Still 1% of gdp.

and the top 5 weapons manufacturers in the world are all American.

So how naive do you think people are in Asia?

They are not naive enough to believe peaceful rise, that is for sure.

Sending weapons to a nation fighting off an invasion is justified and moral

That is your or somebody's opinion, the world is divided over the need of deterrence but US always chooses what is economically convenient for their big military industrial apparatus, and that is not a coincidence since the top arms manufacturers are all Americans.

We have a lot of allies to supply. This is a good thing. Still 1% of gdp.

The White House by far the largest spender in the world, allocating 3.1 times more to the military than the second largest spender, which is China.

Only in absolute terms and no one can know what China really spends.

We need to seek dialogue with China not sending billions and billions of weapons to Taiwan, South Korea, Japan.

There is no dialog that can fix a belligerent Peking.

Look at what happened arming Israel and Ukraine.

They defended themselves from attack. This is a good thing.

The anti-Beijing hysteria is clearly being led by the United States which is not concerned that China will attack other countries, but is worried that its world hegemony is being challenged.

If China will attack other countries, it's not so peaceful is it?

Let's just make sure any South China Sea naval tensions do not escalate beyond water cannons = we don't need all this talk of nukes like in Ukraine proxy war and use of hyper sonic weapons etc.!
