And this is why I don't donate any money to charities instead donate goods.

This is a disgusting practice. In these situations there should be heavier punishments.

Most of the world's biggest aid donors are failing to make public what their spending achieves, according to a study released on Wednesday that ranks China, the United Arab Emirates and Japan as the worst performers.

Force them to show all details and if money ended up in their own pockets, sue them.

And this is why I don't donate any money to charities instead donate goods.

The article has nothing to do with charities accepting donations from the public. It is about government foreign aid budgets.

For private charities, some of them are good about disclosing exactly what they spend the money they receive on and how effective it is. Others are not.

Donated goods are almost always useless to charities unless it is something they have specifically asked for since whatever people want to give almost never matches with what they need. Money is usually way better, so long as you are donating to a charity that discloses accurate information about how it is spent.

There is a difference between announcing, advertising, promoting and disclosing what monies spent on aids and donations are used for and have achieved.

Much depends on where, when, how, and why such funds were spent. The purpose and objective are not necessarily the same nor are the wanted or expected results.

At the same time, there is NO requirement or necessity for any country to fully disclose such aids and donations.

To make rankings may be acceptable but to "judge" the use of aids and donations by other than the country and its people is meaningless.

For many countries, such aids and donations may be better kept confidential for more than just political reasons.

in any case full disclosure of anything to others does not make sense.

This is why big donors should only give to Red Cross, UNICEF, WWF and other established charities.
