I assume they will be eligible for unemployment insurance, income support and severance compensation should they lose their jobs due to circumstances beyond their control. Just kidding.

At our company, yesterday, 6 trainees from Vietnam arrived.
Nice people!

The country that needs Vietnamese nurses most is Vietnam.

The numbers are not enough for the number of elderly-robots need to be deployed..
Fighto!
Good for them. Good luck passing the Language exams so they can obtain the right to work and live for 3-5 years in Japan.
True. But if you had the chance to flee a Communist nation to eventually earn ¥800-1000/hr (5 times the Vietnam salary) for up to 5 years, Im sure youd take it too.
Do the hustle
One of my Filipino friends took on this scheme (scam). She was abused by all the staff, made to work ridiculous hours and the only work she did was bed pans, bed baths and mopping floors. She lasted nearly six months and threw in the towel.

Hope for their happiness. Recently taught 20 Vietnamese at one of those two year training colleges. Majority of them wanted to go back home and said their life was better back home, was eye-opening and sad.

Except she only came here to work in a hostess bar and stuck with legitimate job for the visa about as long as average.

Yes, that is the purpose of the program. They get trained in Japan work and a few years and then return home.

I appreciate they've come to Japan. I hope their experience in Japan to be valuable one.

........
this doesn't happen to Filipino only. my Italian, Spanish, colleagues working in Roppongi bars as well with company sponsored visas.
Its unkind of you to suddenly come up with this idea.

231 is a drop in the bucket of what Japan needs for nurses. Zichi's figure of 20,000 needed medical professionals may even be a little low.

They are being lured, not until they arrived in Japan, they learn many unpleasant details.
Going back home just like that? No they still have unpaid debt that still need to pay.

Trained? Nursing is specialized skill but not exclusively Japan have nursery skill. Japan just won't say labor so word trainee is being used. So this is not about training at all since they just work in regular shift just like regular hospital employee while need to study to get their nintei kankoshi.

Yesterday it was this article with this headline "Virus-hit Japanese companies turn to early retirement to cut costs " and today the writer of this article is still parroting the Labor shortage narrative of a few years ago.
It is so easy to copy and paste that any Tom, DIck or Jack can write an article without bearing any responsibility .Standards have really fallen.
