Do Hokkaido deer now the meaning of a Lion's roar? Have they been to Afrika?

Whether they recognize the roar as a lion's or not, I'm sure they realize that it is that of a predator''s. As for how they get the wolf urine...well that just baffles me. Do they milk them like cows or have them potty trained? Regardless, not the type of job that I would want to have.

@Amidalism If they never heard a lion, how do they know it is a predator? If there are still wolfs or Bears in Hokkaido those "roars" would be more logical.

People vastly underestimate how stupid deer are. This animal is dumb enough to stare blankly into the headlights of an approaching car and await their own demise. You really think they're intelligent enough to distinguish between a lion's roar and the noise of a car?

The headlights blind them and render them unable to move. Stupidity has nothing to do with it. Now, people foaming at the mouth at the thought of getting their jollies from killing a creature that poses no threat to them - there's stupidity.

wolf urine! how do you collect it and that too in such quantities sufficient enough to cover the whole of a railway track! and that too imported! I think importing real wolves and keeping them under safe custody may be more effective. if the deer fears the urine it will fear the wolf more.

No-one's foaming, Cleo, and they pose a threat to motorists (and vice versa, of course).

@Dennis Bauer I would assume that the fact that the lions roar is loud and similar to that of other animals such as a bear as you stated. I'm sure if you heard the roar of a large beast that you didn't know what it was in your vicinity you would at least be on alert.
