Worker falls to death at Tokyo recycling plant

A worker at a recycling plant in Tokyo died after he fell into a silo, police said Monday.

According to police, the man, in his 30s, was cleaning at the recycling plant in Ota Ward at around 9 a.m. Sunday when he apparentlyy fell 6 meters into a silo, TBS reported. A coworker called the authorities to report the incident. The man was retrieved and taken to hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Police say the man was working inside the silo when his safety rope gave way. A search into the cause of the incident is currently underway.
