World's oldest man dies in Japan at 112

That thing... when you see your name in the papers for the first time in 112 years.... and you realise you be there again soon.... RIP fella, short lived fame

His advice for a long life: "smile." He told the people of the world, "Ganbare!"

I don't know if i want to live that long... maybe i can't afford it anyway ...

He admitted a penchant for sweets such as custard pudding and ice cream.

I wouldn't even be able to live to this age if I wanted to. I couldn't possibly fund a retirement lasting some fifty years!

I'm shocked and saddened. Watanabe-san seemed healthy on the news 2 weeks ago. What is the cause? He didnt quite make it to the world record, but it seems Watanabe-san had an amazing life.
