Oh my God...what the hell is that?

I want to see a nice and cute young lady bringing my food and drinks to the table.

Not that stupid robot.

If he comes to my table I will take out his battery.

the robotic service by many human servers in Japan is my tolerance limit.

Lack of staff ? Pay them a reasonable salary instead of a pittance of 950 yen an hour. A scandal for any employer and you will have plenty.

Train your staff and your clients might even revisit

ids that Mr Sons well published leadership in AI, importing this junk from the Us ?

A noodle shop was closed down for 2 weeks because 2 of their cooking staff got the virus. Blessedly, I have been staying away from restaurants and had nothing to fear but people be careful.

Would you be willing to spend 3000 yen a meal to support a better wage?

He looks pretty lifelike. Even wears a mask and has arms and hands. Technology these days. Wow!

How stupid. What has this to do with labor shortage? The staff who cooks and fills the robot up surely has another 15 seconds to carry the meal to the customer’s place. Or are they all instantly fired or sent home after cooking? lol

The Japanese and foreign media have spouted out stories like this routinely for the past 15 years about how Japanese society is integrating robots into its service industry. And living in Tokyo, I have not seen any robots doing anything useful in all that time. The one exception was a client's Roomba, which was vacuuming the office at the time. The Roomba is a US robot and the client was American.

This is an American robot. It won't leave after delivering the food until it gets a tip.

A passive aggressive robot? It'll fit right in.
