Royalty in other countries would be hugging and making the kids feel loved. This kind of photo just reinforces the enormous gap between the Japanese royal family and ordinary people.

Why is it that every time Japanese royal family members visit disabled people and disabled bell ringing groups and it is always done at a distance as if everyone got rabies.

I feel sorry for Kako and the disabled people being forced to mask up for the event by their idiotic handlers. Let people be people again.

Feels very formal indeed, kids may be shy and aware of the media and covid there is and Japanese kind of thing but i think if all these royalty could take some not very formal picture, no need to hug even, for example everyone including the princess hands up and wrinkles in the corners of their eyes it would show this visit really did great for those children because they could feel at ease and had a good time... no matter how i look all the circumstances included, if people could put more thought into spending a quality time with these children i feel like they could really felt happy during that visit, just being there and participating may not be enough to make disabled people happy, one have to go out of their way to be innovative and creative in a way.

Oh I don't know, the girl in the back row wearing a yellow top looks enthralled, but it is difficult to say with them all waring facemasks. Don't really see the point of this photo. Princess Kako is in my opinion an Empress in the making, she does not have to prove herself with photo opportunities.
