A dash of Pepper

Japanese actress Suzu Hirose and SoftBank's Pepper robots pose for photographers during a media event in Tokyo on Wednesday. SoftBank will use Peppers in a pop-up store to open in Omotesando, Tokyo, from March 28 until April 3. The Pepper Phone Shop will be staffed entirely by Peppers that will serve at the reception desk, act as store manager and provide sales information to customers. But humans will be on hand to help customers sign contracts.

Probably an improvement.

Do some of the robots panic and lose all sense of logic if a gaijin walks in?

Jimizo: They probably will not adopt that ancient Jeddai art of hiding under their desks either....

SoftBank will use Peppers in a pop-up store

Many readers may remember that Pepper became infamous several months ago for the warning included in its product user agreement that owners "must not perform any sexual act" or "other indecent behavior" with the robot.

Anyway, think about that if you visit the "pop-up" store.

Hmm - interesting that there are no comments about legs yet.

Will the robot-staff hierarchy interact verbally or via bluetooth?

inkochi: Most men are not interested in Robot legs unless they have a thigh gap.

Do these things point at their nose when they say Watakushi?
