If UV sunglasses, better for eyes. Many old dogs have cataract.

Dressing up pets, one of my pet peeves! I am peeving right now on this beautiful Tuesday morning.

any woman (and I'm assuming this dog belongs to a woman) who dresses up a dog like this screams one thing: (at least to me)

I HAVE A PROBLEM RELATING TO HUMANS! PLEASE AVOID ME!

This is a dog. And I class this treatment as abuse.

This poor little dog is probably happy about the sunglasses as it helps to hide its identity from other dogs. If the owner wants to play with dolls there are plenty of real dolls why make an animal suffer like this.

Awwww, so kawaii! Not.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Is it a dog or a living doll to play with? Sad!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Idiotic.

I smell a surrogate child

And I thought that was Channel No5.

Poor doggie.

Oh, if you think this is bad then why not dress up a 2-5 year girl with make up to enter a pagent. That's ok, no?

Thanks JT for nothing. Just for a change it would be nice if you could provide us with a dog photo of a larger breed rather than one of these little ankle biters.

You know, normaly the idea of dressing up your pets rubs me the wrong way, however, this dog's got style!

I think its great that people who shouldn't have kids, dress up dogs instead. What a wonderful outlet! If only the rest of the world could encourage the same...think of the improvement in children's lives.

this dog is definitely more handsome than some men who try to get my attention

Wot timorborder sed.

Little dogs are OK, but dog-sized DOGs are wot it's all about.

Then again, LoveUSA also has a point.

Go on Cleo, send JT a photo! I would like to send a photo, but it might end up scaring the kids who visit JT.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I want to see Cleo's Dobie. Cleo, send it in!

Maybe it just has really ugly eyes.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

not cool, not funny! the craze about pampered lap dogs is just retarded!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

This is definitely not something I would do. The little cowboy hat is nearly the same color as his fur. It might go unnoticed. Think - contrasting color with drama (fuschia, black ...) with matching vest and bandana, maybe a pair of leather chaps. Sheepskin jacket (marlboro man) if it's cold. Boots are optional.

Poor dog... If the owner likes dressing dogs up like they were human, I wonder if he/she is willing to walk around naked with only a leash!

osakadaz: I don't see why the country of Japan has anything to do with this... weirdos like this and even worse are in every country...

Tahoochi:

" I don't see why the country of Japan has anything to do with this... "

In Japan it is so perfidious because these are not only lonely old ladies who are doing this. Lots of families get a pet rather than having children. I see it in our neighbourhood. With 3 kids, we are the "large" family around. All the Japanese households around us have either 1 spoiled designer kid or none at all. They all have stupid little pooches though that they parade around.

The way for a society to commit demographic suicide...

Where's the mask?

Looks like Muffet from the old Battlestar Galactica :)

WilliB: This picture of a dog/Your neighborhood is a reflection of an entire nation? I see many people on JT that criticize Japan's "ugly side"... which is fine because truths cannot be denied. But first of all, although one may not agree with what is being done to this dog here (me included), it is ignorant in my opinion to mock at a whole country as having "forgotten common sense" based on this one picture, or even saying that this picture is more proof that Japan does not have common sense is ridiculous!

Also, I don't know where you live in Japan, but things are much different where I am. I'm not even going into details here about that, but let's just say that where you live sounds much different from where I live. My point is this:

You said: All the Japanese households around us have either 1 spoiled designer kid or none at all. They all have stupid little pooches though that they parade around. The way for a society to commit demographic suicide...

People having "stupid little pooches", dogs, cats, rabbits, turtles, hamsters, snakes, or freakin' elephants, does not contribute to demographic suicide... having pets may be a result of choosing not to have kids, but I doubt people are saying to themselves "hmmm... I want kids, but I also want a dog... honey, let's have a dog instead of kids!"

30061015 is dead right. Next will be Canine Influenza.

that is so cruel...

0 ( +0 / -0 )

the only thing more annoying than rat-dogs like this, are the people who own them

tahooch:

I didn´t say pet dogs are the cause of the population decline, I only said they are symptomatic.

And yes, Japan has one of the lowest fertility rates in the developed world.

And while demographics is nothing in the short run, it is everything in the long run.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

stirfry -- agree. Folks who do this are just screaming for attention. They don't love their pet, they love the attention it brings them. Just like any other accessory.

Is his name Steve? Have you seen the dogs owner? Neither has the dog.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

t bone: that is a good one! He does look like that "daggit" from the original Battlestar Galactica.

When I was in Tokyo a couple of years ago it was very hot. Despite that I saw many people who had dressed their dogs - cute little pullover, baseball outfits etc. The dogs were clearly suffering, but the owners did not care. It is only in Japan that I saw this. In Europe the dogs are only dressed - if at all - when it is a very cold winter.

Rat in a dog suit.

this doggie is a cool cucumber, too cool for the school no?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Well, if there's one level in which animals are superior to humans, it's that they don't judge each other based on how their idiot owners are insecure in themselves. Or perhaps to simplify, they're simply not as insecure as to who they are. When I see these kinds of pets all dolled up, I seriously pity the human beings behind them.

I have heard dogs and their owners look alike. I would like to see what this dog's owner looks like.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Hopfly - I would like to punch this dog's owner in the mouth.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I just wish the idiots who live nearby would SHUT THEIR YAPPING DOG THE HELL UP and dress it anyway they like. Personally, I think they are taking revenge on Society in General by choosing to annoy the hell out of anyone in listening range. Why their next door neighbors don't go the local koban and bitch is rather beyond me...
