Japan's Pearl Harbor attack was a war act but US's two nuke bombs and air raids all over Japan on innocent civilians are war crime acts. Japans invasion of China and Asia killed more civilians than all of Japans and the US fatalities combined, by far. Many of those women and children at the end of a bayonet. Tina enough with your brainwashed BS. Nobody slaughtered more civilians during WW2 than IJA and Hitlers Nazis. Many of Japans war criminals are enshrined and prayed for each year, and Japanese cant understand why gaijin dont take Japans claims of war crimes against them seriously!

Japan was punished for War Crimes. US was not.
Nukes were not necessary and US cannot make any excuse on that.

Tina,
Your wishing something to be a certain way doesn't make it so. You are partially right about some things, though, such as the establishment (in countries which were controlled by the military) being the main culprit, and about textbooks which have to undergo official governmental screening (in countries where that happens) not being reliable.

Please study true history not from wikipedia or school textbooks. It's important because American soldiers were also victims. Your enemy is your establishment ( same in Japan too).

@TinaW - at the time, that was how wars were fought. No such thing as "surgical strike." Take away the will and ability for the enemy to fight. That means killing all the workers too.
What do we call killing 10-20M people? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_war_crimes#Crimes The only way I know to put things like this behind us, collectively, is by exchanging lots and lots of people so "foreign" doesn't seem so "foreign." Humans tend to fear the unfamiliar. We can learn to understand each other best by 1-on-1 experiences with each other.

Ok, but as a result stemming from what?

By their behavior in various invasions and terror bombings from the air, Japan adopted total war and abandoned the protections of declaring the USA's later actions 'war crimes'. This is all known. How then can you complain about it 70 years later?

Japan's Pearl Harbor attack was legal, but US's two nuke bombs on civilians are war crime. People should realize that.
Nanjing and comfort women stories are fake.

Agree, would be great but 'they' means Japan and China I assume. Takes 2 to fight and same 2 reconcile.
bass4funk
Would be great thing if they did.
Pacech1967
Doubt Nanjing will come soon.
No leading head will do it till it is stopped as political leverage and using inflated/unrealistic figures.
Not a fan of what Japan did but what China and Korea are claiming shows they don't want closure anf reconciliation

Next: Nanjing.
