The Nanjing massacre is an atrocity and I in no way detract from it but these are mainland goons trying to drum up patriotic sentiment for "one-china"

What Abe did is...
In 2006, Abe and Chinese President Hu Jintao proposed Joint Researcg project about Nanjing Massacre.
In 2015, apology and compensation for Korean comfort woman 1 billion yen ($8.3 million) .
Of course, the death toll in Nanjing remains disputable.
By the way, the flag of Red sun with beams, so called.Kyoku Jitu Ki きょくじつき, 旭日旗, is such a beautiful traditional Japanese art.

Whey they do the same against Mao, I may start paying attention to what they say.

Shame on you VeeJay for condoning such a cruel Massacre, these are Hong Konger, even the Chinese Characters in the background banner are traditional Chinese characters used by HK.

On this moment, I thank people still care about what happened decades ago, I recommend people to finish what they started.

I'm afraid Hong Kong is also infested with mainland Chinese communist thugs these days. For examples of their activities I invite you to look at how anyone who criticises the unelected dictator Xi Jinping gets abducted to mainland China and thrown in jail, in violation of the treaties China signed when it regained control of Hong Kong.

Like the Comfort Women the Nanjing Atrocity will never go away.

Was Abe responsible for Nanjing?

The chances are zero.
Much easier to point out what others have done to you in order to build on rampant nationalism, rather than reflect on your own faults. That is far more troubling. Even in a democracy that's tough. Australia still hasn't truly reflected, at a society wide level, on what happened up until the 1950's & 60's to first Australians, some of which is really horrific. In a country like China? No way.

I have more time for a protest of this nature than those ridiculous comfort women statues that seem to be creeping up all over the world.

These Japan basher-cum-communist-sympathizers are a minority in Hong Kong. Most Hongkongers love modern Japan and don't fault Japanese atrocities on today's Japanese. They rather love to point to the 1989 Tiananmen Massacre done by the chicoms against their own people, which invariably makes Beijing super angry and their lackeys in Hong Kong hugely embarrassed too.

Once I asked a Chinese about Tibet. He looked at me strange and called them "dirty and uncivilized" as if that explained the takeover of that country - and it did!

Japan should just admit to everything and apologize and let history be history. PRC China is an easy target but this Trump-like redirecting and targeting insults and blame on Chinese communist goons is rather cowardly and pathetic. Same goes for Comfort Women issue and other lingering historical spats.

That's a strange thing to say. You seem to be implying that it is hypocritical for the Chinese to take Japan to task when their own tyrants have also committed brutal acts, but what do Mao's, or any other Chinese despot's, crimes against the Chinese people have to do with JAPAN's crimes against China? One does not cancel out the other. If you want the Chinese to ignore Japan's crimes against China until after all those internal issues have been resolved, you are essentially asking them to never bring them up at all. So does this "logic" also work in reverse when the Japanese complain about foreign governments?
Do you ever wonder why it seems to be the world vs. Japan on this issue?
The Nazi swastika flag is also a very attractive and eye-catching design. It's a damn shame they can't use it any more, eh?
