I've never understood why we call them a "rink" coz they're shaped more like an ovalk.

@Mack:

They are called "RINK" so the Japanese can pronounce it.

Haven't been on the ice for 10 years! Anybody know if i can rent a pair of proper hockey skates?

@Mack: Rink is a Scottish word meaning 'course'. I like the idea of having rinks like that in cities.

@Mack, @Foxie

I always thought that it was a bunch of Canadians that got together and said drunkenly to each other after a hockey game: "Les' hava 'rink to shelebrate our team!":)

"Skates can be rented for 500 yen"

Do they have 30cm size?

cool ^^ HAHAHAHA @Daijoboots lol!!

Yes, I would expect they have 30cm sizes, they are all rented anyway.

Rink, a Scottish word meaning 'course', was used as the name of a place where another game, curling, was played. The name has been retained for the construction of ice areas for other sports and uses
