Pretty pointless patrolling the APEC venue if you are not stopping people on the street for ID checks and bag checks. The bus across the road could have a bomb in it and there are no roadchecks.

Northlondon, I would assume you don't live near nor pass through this area. I would be more than willing to invite you over this weekend and I bet you, you will make a hundred and eighty degree turn.

I was around there on Tuesday and there were cops walking and driving cars and vans all over the place but no one was checking people or vehicles. I did see two cops help a handicapped man cross the street.

@Northlondon - I do live around there, and I have been stopped and checked numerous times, on foot and in a car. Buses are being spot checked. It is wall to wall police.

As I hardly set foot in Boke-hama, I have to rely on 'Picture Of The Day', which shows me nothing about security. Just a cop going for a stroll in the sun. If this place is the security check nightmare that everyone is preaching to me about here, then we need a more relevant and topical picture.

I'm more concerned about the trash. There's nowhere to put it because they're sealing everything.

If JT ran pictures of every extraneous policeman on the streets for this silly conference, they would run out of hard disk space trying to store them all.
