I'm surprised they don't end the illumination at midnight on Dec 24, considering that nothing happens on Dec 25 anyway. But I see that some illumination displays are actually lasting until about Jan 10, namely Omotesando, Yokohama Marine Tower and a few other places.

Lovely!! Livens up the evenings - worht every extra bit of CO2 it might generate.

One of my favourite places in Tokyo if only for the lights. Try to get there just before they turn the lights on (I think at 4 pm). There's a loud pop when the lights go on, which makes the girls scream in surprise. Kawaii.

Too late! I am already sick of Christmas decorations! Could we just move on to New Year's now and hit Valentine's Day around Dec 20?

Hmm, maybe not. I've lived there for 14 years and was really happy after moving to Okinawa.

I pulled this up, stepped back from it a bit and hit the lights. Beautiful. I have to say, really beautiful.
