Great picture, except for that massive tear in her leggings. Hasukashiii

I'm pretty sure that's not a tear, but some athletic tape.

A fun picture of a beautiful group of young ladies. Keep smiling!

Been watching them compete on TV. Not only are they a good-looking group, they are good at gymnastics. I think some of their scores were quite low considering the super efforts they are putting into their performances. Anyway ... hope they get some medals ...

What a great payoff for the hard work these girls have put into their sport. Best of luck to them in the team finals!

I thought they are synchronized swimmers at first sight but they are really synchronized gymnasts.

Julio Cortez must have enjoyed this take for AP.

I wonder how a press photographer from here would have done it for Kyodo.

wtfjapanAUG. 08, 2016 - 01:59PM JST sorry to me they just look like adolescent girls, Ill take the Russian synchronised swimmers any day.

Perhaps women participate in the world's most important athletic competition for reasons other than to sexually appeal to you.

I think we are too accustomed to photoshopped pictures. Any normal abnormality is the focus. I don't understand why we need false impressions of performers. The reality category is where we all fall.

Their uniforms look great! Sadly I didn't get to see any of their performances. Since I live in the US the only team broadcast they'll show is the US teams and maybe the competing finalists if there are no US team placements. Might be able to see the Japanese teams online somewhere I guess.

Game on! No matter what people say about the IOC, the Olympics are a fantastic idea for the humanity in the world to get together for "friendly" competitive sports.

But it seems smaller is definitely better in gymnastics these days.

Actually, muscular is the growing trend these days, especially in the legs. I believe the days of the gymnastic waif as the "ideal" have passed.

They are just adolescent girls, and the title reads "artistic" nothing else. BTW you really must have a fetish for make-up and grease if you think the Russian swimmers are something.

In which case, I'm the one who's hasukashiii, once again falling victim to "foot in mouth" syndrome

I thought they are synchronised swimmers at first sight but they are really synchronised gymnasts. thats my point why are they poised like synchronised swimmers!? IF you've ever been to Russia you wouldn't garbage Russian women, typical Japanese guy comment. Wouldn't know how to handle a Russian woman if they tried. LOL

Have to say i have never found female gymnasts particularly gracious. Just too petite imo.

Remember a tallish (still less than 170cm though) Russian a while ago, she was probably not as quick/strong as those 145cm/40kgs girls but was imo a much more complete gymnast.

But it seems smaller is definitely better in gymnastics these days.
