The spectacular Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route, which opened this week in Toyama Prefecture, is a popular drawcard for tourists when it becomes accessible each spring. See story here.

After all that has been happening here, nice to see a little something that makes you smile.

Once took that road in late summer - pretty different to this. Always wanted to do it in this season - just so much snow!

Maybe not so bad just now on a weekday, but just thinking of mega traffic jams over Golden Week, and with a lane closed for the walkers!

Nature reminding us just how small we are.

When I went there two years ago, the route is not open to the public. You had to use the public transportation, so no chance of traffic jams. People jams during GW on the other hand...

If you think that looks cool, you should see the machines they use to clear that. Now that's a snow blower!

One of my favorite places in Japan. Nice in autumn and spectacular in early spring. If you haven't been there, you should definitely check it out.
