Nobody under 55 years old in that shot.

Heck, 60.

The court acquitted Ozawa of charges of violating fund-raising law.

Gee, that sure is a shock.

Supporters of Ichiro Ozawa shout “banzai”

Nah... They were shouting 犯罪 (はんざい)!

Rent a crowd.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Why are this idiots smiling. Ozawa has the money and these old geezers while go home to their dank houses/apartments to eat cat food...

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Rent a granny is more like it. Don't these women realize the damage they're doing to the youth of this country by supporting such snakes?! Oh right, they don't care. They'll be dead when everything falls apart. Just like those in power.

0 ( +6 / -5 )

Yuck! Look at that crowd.. All soon-to-be extinct dinosaurs...

Just like CactusJack said.. No one under 60! ROFL

0 ( +6 / -5 )

Cactus, there is only one clear face in that picture besides the posters. How can you make such a judgment call?

I know a lot of young people that think Ozawa is the only hope they have.

That woman in the red jacket is a moron.

"That woman in the red jacket is a moron".

It's his mom, shame on you!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Is the guy above the center picture of Ozawa, Ozawa himself, clapping his hands?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Look at all the young people in that shot! Thanks for helping destroy the country, people. Sheesh... cheering for injustice!

1 ( +3 / -2 )

We still run this country, Banzai!!!

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Call it irony if you want that these people cheering for such a guy would never see their hopes realized if he were a leader, I just call it profound stupidity. But hey, Ozawa can quit again when he fails them and then again blame pass it on to the next guy.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Sorry... 'blame' or 'pass'. You choose. I'll try and choose to edit from here on in.

To the thumbs downers, I was not really shocked. I was attempting sarcasm. However, the fact is that beyond impressions, the prosecution failed to bring enough evidence to trial to convict him. I think most people still think he was guilty, but that does not change the fact that the case was not proven. Unless we want mob rule, we have to sometimes accept such failures and learn from them. Hopefully, he does not get to a position from which he can further ruin things.

Good grief, who are these people?

0 ( +2 / -2 )

who are these people?

Ozawafanatics.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

My God, how sad is this. Haven't these people got anything better to do on a Thursday afternoon? Ah, oo, wait, sorry. I just noticed their age.

The guy in the middle of the photo standing right at the back kind of looks like Ozawa too.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

That is one thing you'll never see me doing. Not Ozawa, not Ishihara, not any other politician.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

looks like the picture of Ozawa was taken after the verdict, but then again he must have known the outcome . He probably thinks now he can walk on water.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Great that he has at least a few enthusiastic followers. They look like groupies!

Political forces get crowds to cheer at public event, spontaneously demonstrating love and devotion for the true leader. But this isn't North Korea!

gyouza: "Political forces get crowds to cheer at public event, spontaneously demonstrating love and devotion for the true leader. But this isn't North Korea!"

That's a good point! I bet you my bottom yen though they'd claim to be totally different while they preach the same crap. Actually, I'd bet they'd launch a rocket on Ozawa's behalf!

Sheep

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Suitasteve - agreed, but not in the photo.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

A bunch of old farts.. but then again.. that's the new and improved Japan

Good grief, who are these people? Old, never worked, never paid pension, nearly dead. Good riddance.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

they are people that know that ozawa was being railroaded by the monied establishment.

this charge was a trumped up drop in the bucket compared to the major scandals of the big politicos, but it was the best the scambags could come up with.

whether you like ozawa or not, he is certainly much cleaner than 99% of all other bigwig politicos of the past 50 years in japan.

and he is one of the only ones to actually push the interests of the middle class.

If you watched it on the news, it was ALL old people. Mostly women though of course, the TV stations interviewed the men only... Interesting how they'll be out for this but not for demonstrating for other things... Indeed, rent a crowd.
