The cast of "Battleship," from left, Brooklyn Decker, Alexander Skarsgard, Taylor Kitsch, Tadanobu Asano, Rihanna, and director Peter Berg, pose for photographers with the crew of the USS George Washington during a promotion event aboard the aircraft carrier at the U.S. 7th Fleet's headquarters in Yokosuka, near Tokyo, on Monday. "Battleship" opens in Japan on April 13.

MustardKing, As free as you are to make a comment of such proportion, be mindful who gave you the right to make that opinion. If everyone could sign up just for a paycheck, I think more than the eligible 1% would actually do it then.
And no, not in the sense of a baseball player is a hero. I don't consider them heroes.. maybe a role model, but certainly not a hero.
Police, Firemen, and Military=Hero.

Lots of American warships being blown up, might be worthwhile to watch after all. Just kidding.....................
wow, then who would come to your rescue when the nasty Chinese invade your motherland ? Just kidding.....................

cactusjack, I'm waiting for Electronic Football - in 3D!
MustardKing
In the sense that baseball players are also heroes? Sure.
But in my book, you actually have to do something to be an actual hero. I am pretty sick of the word being so randomly thrown about, especially to people who signed up for a paycheck rather than to actually defend their country when it needed defending, as it certainly does not need defending right now.

Another American movie featuring the U.S. military. I hope they lose this time, but not betting on it. Hollywood propaganda does not really work that way.

Warning, Spoiler Alert
The bad guys aren't aliens blowing up ships; they're Obama and Congress killing us with budget cuts... >: (

Being as how I got to go home early today thanks to the "typhoon," heh heh, I just watched the official trailer - oh good grief, looks like a bunch of obvious CG.

How about we add that the actual picture is showing some actual sailors, that are actually hero's!

Yeah another mighty hollywood movie. At least the west can make a half decent movie unlike the dribble that this country produces. About the only thing good about Japanese movies and T.V is..... Hmm there is nothing good never mind.

This looks interesting.
Love movies. They help me forget (at least for a little while) that I live in the radioactive hot spot of Kashiwa, work at a dead end job that I can't stand with people I just can't help but ridicule, have to pay off a huge mortgage that I'll probably never be able to do on a place that'll probably never be able to sell and that I am stuck married to a Japanese woman who is a lunatic (on and off meds for anger issues) who no longer the bikini wearing nympho (wish she was Brooklyn Decker) I married all those years ago.
Battleship take me away before I start on on one of my bitter anti-Japan rants again.

GW...well, it's my own fault really. I did make an exceptionally provocative statement about wanting to see the film this site has been paid to plug.

IvanC,
your taking lots of hits by the looks of it, anything sunk yet LOL!!

Something is missing from this picture that is annoying me. I can't help thinking there should be something like a self congratualy banner stretched above the number 73. "Mission well done" or something.

@Kwatt - this movie is about aliens - like from outer space, not from Earth and so on, so would be best be described as a science fiction movie. Movies are made for one purpose - putting butts in $eat$ and $elling popcorn. Science fiction, action & war movies and their ilk are escapist in nature and can be quite entertaining by putting people in extreme situations, though I doubt this one is.

When is "Hungry Hungry Hippo" gonna come out?

This looks like a cracking movie. I'll be going to see it.
Anybody know why it's being released in Japan before the USA? A most unusual situation.

Makes me understand how Americans really love war movies and also real wars.

I don't know what game director and writers of this movie were playing, but I certainly don't remember robotic aliens when playing Battleship as a kid.

Battle LA part 2? If they attack Tokyo, Gojira to the rescue!

Alien: CO-ORDINATES B6
Human: It's a hit, you sunk my battleship
Alien: HAA HAA I WIN AGAIN PATHETIC EARTHLINGS

Saw the previews, yes there is at least one Iowa battleship. Lots of American warships being blown up, might be worthwhile to watch after all. Just kidding

No battleships in service anymore - using an aircraft carrier for this event. Yeah, I'll pass on a movie inspired by a board game, not even worth renting. Perfect to watch while half-a-sleep on a long flight when you've watched the other 2 movies you are interested in.
napoleancomplex
i hear this movie is based on the game.... battleship

Another alien invasion movie? How boring, how about sending in the Space Cruiser Yamato! Anyhow another mighty gaijin movie, PU!
