@movieguy - Yes this isn't actually Southern Terrace like the caption says. I can tell from the wall that this is the narrow semi-indoor pathway between Lumine 1 and Odakyu department store.
Sorry, but I was just over there and I walked along the Southern Terrace and then across to Takashimaya and this particular area was not there at all. The Southern Terrace side was nice, but didn't look as nice as this shot and the Takashimaya side was severely lacking. When you're on the 2nd floor level there are several set ups of PET bottle "sculptors" with a space ship, robot, mini tunnel and a Christmas tree, but I saw nothing that looked like this picture.
JT could this have been the display that is just off of Shinjuku Station??? I forgot the name of that strip that you can enter from minami-guchi, but there is a "Itsdemo" shop next to it. I'm pretty sure this picture is labeled incorrectly as "Shinjuku Times Square."
I dont like the plastic faded color of the LED Xmas tree. I much prefer the genuine christmas tree wrapped in scintillating silver and gold and bespeckeled with vivid green red and blue.
For a country that hasnt a clue about the real meaning of Christmas, the Japanese certainly love the Christmas illuminations and decorations, which seem to get better every year. Famtastic display.
Oh that is so beautiful! I wish I could visit Japan during all the Holidays. Over here we just had Santa Claus ride through town in a sled which was mounted on a flatbed truck. ah, to be a kid again.

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree, Your branches blue delight us. They are blue when summer days are bright; They are blue when winter snow is white

"Made in China" and "Sponsored by Abu Dabi".

What if they had a little sign in the front of it that said "100% Made in China". Might lose a little of the "magic".
