Live and let live. They are making an effort to give good lives to children. More than most of us can say. More power to them.

I believe the first 4 were adopted. The big fuss last year or so was over their 'real' children. I think they're to be applauded for adopting so many kids. It's probably hard for them to spend lots of time with their kids, but how is that different to any other working parent? They probably have days off at a time and then nights where they aren't home. And they'd probably -still- spend more time with their kids than a J-dad.

benjamin button was brilliant. anyhow, they know what theyre doing, indeed rich and famous but they make the world better. most japanese celebrities are zero to them and at least they dont get married 7 times in different countries with j media in tow.

These two superstars are role-models to society. They adopt children, because they have the financial means to. Imagine what the world could be, if every rich man and woman were like them.

They can't even say his name proper, which where i caome from is a total lack of respect.

3 adopted, 3 are "theirs". Funny, no nannies... Seems they one for each kid... But I guess they don't make for good "family" photos... They both make me sick.

I have never heard of any Japanese, poor or rich, famous or notorious, adopting any children. And I do not mean the Japanese guy married to a woman from Asia who left extra luggage behind in their own country and when married to Japanese seek the chance to bring them in the land of the rising yen.

I do wonder why any birth parent would willingly surrender their child to a celebrity couple given their often mercurial marriages and the level of public scrutiny it puts the children under in our celebrity-obsessed culture. Now these kids were abandoned, of course, by parents who were probably unable to provide for them.

In fact it was Mia Farrow who lobbied to have the law changed to allow couples to create families via multiple country adoptions and we know what happened. This family, thankfully, appears to be more stable.

It's too bad adopted children in the public eye are forever described that way. I felt "enough already" while watching Ronald Reagan's public memorial services and hearing Michael Reagan repeatedly referred to as "his adopted son." After all these years, can't he just be "his older son"???? Michael paid tribute to his father by noting RR never referred to him that way.

I was extremely close to my step-grandfather from whom I gained so much. He was the one who taught me how to swim, ride a bicycle and appreciate the natural world. I never felt our bond amounted to less than what he shared with his biological grandchildren since that's not what the most important connections are based on.

This couple, they have tons of money ,tons of brain and tons of heart.And that is not overestimation about them. They make me happy.

Six kids on a long flight? No thank you. I hope they knocked them out with something. Benjamin Button on the other hand is brilliant. Long...almost 3 hours but still brilliant.

I'm sure they arrived on a private plane. It was wonderful when the rule was changed on transpacific flights going toward Asia that each person had to have a separate seat. Prior to that, people held babies to save money on tickets. I remember one flight on which a pregnant woman seated directly behind me had a squirmy toddler on her non-existent lap for most of the 15-hour flight. In fact I will never forget it, the trip from hell....

Yes – youngsters in Japan develop their own code language so that they will be “in”, and those who do not know the code will be “out”. A recent example was Arufo – same meaning as Yayo – you know, Yaku Yonjyusai.

Betzee - is this a rule you made up? Probably depends on the airline, but JAL, as of last month, still allows infants under 2 on the parents lap.

Maybe it is; on my initial forays across the Pacific I flew uber-cheap KAL which carries lots of families going home or returning to the USA after a visit. The lines to use the restrooms were a mile long with all those wee ones on board.

Now I fly UA, maybe it's their rule.

It may be, as in other parts of Asia, when adoption occurs it is not spoken of. I was somewhat unsettled to discover I knew a Chinese friend's much younger sister had been adopted but the girl herself had never been informed. I'm sure she figured it out eventually due to various factors, but it was not something to be discussed in the house or outside.

Transracial adoption is also puzzling to Chinese, "Why do Westerners adopt children from Asia, everyone will know it's not their child?" In other words, blood is thicker than water.

Any celebrity employing help requires them to sign a non-disclosure agreement. As the former nanny to Tom Cruise's older children, whom he adopted with Nicole Kidman, explained, "If he comes out and says 'I'm doing it alone,' well I can't step forward and set the record straight." Though I think he is a devoted Dad, and who would believe he didn't hire help given the demands of his career?

In fact they are not married, so it's a moot point. In Hollywood that may reflect a deeper commitment: Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, Jessica Lange and Sam Shephard all seem to have raised blended families whom we don't hear much about, and in this case no news is good news.

I have no idea why people fawn all over the two of them. He cheated on Jennifer and she has now broken up two marriages - don't forget that Billy Bob was married when she went after him. She is a "former" crack addict who has replaced her need for drugs with her need for adopting/having kids. If any of you think that running around the world and pulling kids out of school is a good thing I question your ideas of good parenting. Personally I liked them both years ago but they use these kids for attention and to make believe they are "good" people. They aren't. They certainly have great PR reps who work hard to keep the public thinking they are giving and supportive but honestly, I do recall varying issues with ALL of the adoptions (paying off people, parents not being dead...) that one has to wonder why they just can't adopt a bunch of kids from the US. Why does Angelina need to pick up omiyage all the time?

With all the news we get on kids being murdered by their parents, it's nice to see this kind of pic/story from time to time. Sure, they are far from normal, but these kids have got a far greater chance in life than, say, a kid whose 18 year-old mother is a pachinko addict and step father is a violent unemployed loser.

Just think. Eight or nine years ago most men would have switched places with Brad Pitt in a heartbeat. Not so much anymore. A crazy, demanding wife, no matter how attractive, is a fate all men should try to avoid -and she is the crazy one in the couple. In many circles, Pitt is now a laughing stock. He wanted children, well now he's got them in spades. And now that the ratio is 50:50, birth vs. adopted kids, you can bet Jolie will be pushing to adopt more to balance out the family so the birth kids don't have an unfair advantage.

tmarie -- interesting post. Not sure I agree 100%, or if any of us are in a position to judge what kind of people they are. Being an unfaithful husband does not make someone "bad". If it did 90% of Japanese married men would fit that definition, and there would be no need for the "water trade" here that employess thoudsands of people and is a core part of the society. I will say however, that he needs a new look. The London, chimney sweep thing is getting really old.

I'm not just basing my dislike of Angelina on just Brad and Jen. I am basing it on the fact that she's been known to do this before. How can anyone have respect for that women when she certainly doesn't seem to have respect for others - and then lies to the public about it? I agree with bebert. Be careful what you wish for...

all i gotta say is the kids do look tight. As for good parenting...they're celebrities for god sakes. You've gotta give them at least a benefit of a doubt that they'll be able to pretty much pamper and spoil each one of them to the fullest. As far as what they're going to become in the future, you never know. They might become the next leaders of politics, or the next action movie stars, or the next pop idol. I'd say so be it. If a mutt from a family in hawaii can become a president, then I'd say these kids should deserve all the flash and news in the world. i'd hope they'll continue to be trained well in manners and academics. I can see them as the next Trump family, don't you?

I am more interested in Burapi's double chin. I wonder if he had it surgically enhanced.

For those who don't live in Japan, the red hot chilli peppers are called "Redo chirri".
