Gawd! With all that money and power you'd think the crown princess Masako would have done something with those daggers hanging out of her mouth. I used to feel sorry for Aiko cos she looked like her father, but after closer scrutiny it's the better of two evils.

You can see she really loves her daddy.

The picture above caught Masako at a somewhat unflattering angle. Look at other pictures taken at the same time, and you'll see she looks good.

I do agree that Masako looks frightening in this picture.

Great pic. I was never that interested in the royal family until learning that their elimination was for a long time one of the main goals of Japan's Communist Party, obviously as self-loathing, petty and craven as socialists and commies everywhere else.

If she hadn't married into the Imperial family, she might very well be U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's counterpart in Japan's Foreign Ministry today.

One hopes she is able to find solace in raising her daughter and the partial relief that must give her from the tentacles of the Imperial Household Agency.

In the West ,people are all brainwashed into believing in "perfect", white teeth, from news readers, models to movie stars,or school children. If you refuse to believe in "perfect", white teeth , the chance is your children... WILL BE and nothing you can do about it.And that is why orthodontics are making too much money these days.Ofcourse when you are so familiar with the look of "perfect" teeth ,Masako's teeth will obviously appear in need of orthodontics's service, even her teeth are all strong and healthy.

My guess would be that a society with very little depth only judges others on the very superficial level of image. Whatever anybody might think of this one picture this is obviously a close family & that alone is something special.

Obaasan and Grafton, most of the mean-spirited comments about the family in this photo regardin' teeth or anything else are not bein' made by Americans.

Once you know the players you'll know this is typical of many threads.

Have just re-read the above posts & will therefore apologise to you, because “dentist” is used more than “orthodontist” & it was the later word the triggered my reaction.

This is a good photo, but it begs the questgion:

At any rate, yes, Crownprincess Aiko does love her Daddy, and Masako loves Aiko's Daddy, too: 'Tis evident in both of their eyes and faces...

It's not like everyone and their brother didn't see it coming, but ... damn ... royal marriage sure has not been kind to Masako.

A happy moment for an otherwise "stuck in their cages" family. It's beautiful to see the obvious love here!

I had the same reaction. She looks horrible and once was an attractive woman.

wow what a happy family, sure because they are a prince and princes of japan, good emperor family.

The little Princess has similar facial features as her mother. I love the way she is looking at her father. You can tell she is Daddy's little girl.
