Oh, I get it. So you're trying to imply that Kitano is not famous? You obviously know nothing about movies and you have never been to the Cannes film festival. I have.

Am I the only one who notices that most of the photographers in this pic are taking this opportunity to switch batteries or memory cards before someone really "famous" hits the carpet?

His right-wing bias was always there, so I never found him funny. Just scary.

Takeshi has such a mean glare basically all of the time. If he hadn't built up a following with his artistic endeavours, nobody would give him the time of day....

I wonder how many times poor Susumu Terajima gets killed in this film.

Takeshi Kitano is the master of his own way of doing things, not sure that is as much of a compliment as I meant for it to be, but it is a compliment. I have liked most everything he has done but rate Dolls as his best work. Though that only really succeeded because of Hisaishi’s score. Change the music and that film would have failed horribly. “outraged” will be added to the collection and only after seeing will I make a judgement, the man can come up with surprises, better to wait until we have seen what is on offer.

In the spirit of fair play, the Japanese have launched this blow hard upon the French in retailiation for their yearly Beaujolais Nouveau joke on the Japanese.

Hanabi and BAttle Royale are still some of his best ever. Cant wait to see this yak movie with him in it.

The screening drew groans and sniggers from viewers during scenes that included flying fingers, plunging chopsticks, a nasty bit of dentistry and the intertwining of a head, a rope and a luxury sedan.

When it comes to slapstick comedy - Beat is the master. I wonder if this film has his trademark hit-a-rubber-hammer-on-the-head gag? Hope so!

One of Japan's only good directors, though of course he is dwarfed by Kurosawa. LOVED Brothers, and look forward to seeing this one.
