it would be nice if hanami really was about walking hand-in-hand with your beloved through the park, taking time to appreciate the beauty of nature for a few hours before returning home...

Yay, Hanami! Jonnyboy is right, Hanami parties are certainly not all about going and "watching cherry blossoms" for several hours, as locals tried to tell me when I came here. It is, of course, about drunken debauchery in all its forms, getting to see the REAL japan and the REAL japanese. And don't we love it!

shame smellivision would present you with the beautiful odours of thousands of drunken revellers and the associated trash piles. not too peacefully quiet either... don't get me wrong, hanami parties can be a hoot, but they are quite an ironic contrast to the supposed image of the sacred sakura

It's so photogenic! I would go there but we might wait in a long line for hours for this boat ride though.

That is so pretty. I just want to visit more and more whenever I see pics like this.

Probably the moat near the east garden. I doubt they'd rent out boats behind the palace.

Perfect location for any couple...from privacy point of view but right behind the imperial Palace?

More cherry blossoms, that's romantic.
