"No nukes" and "Stop climate change" ... what if I told you, nuclear is one of the solutions to stop climate change ?

Picture after picture shows everyday Japanese citizens speaking out and protesting against issues they feel passionate about. Here it is climate change. Yesterday it was anger over TEPCO execs being acquitted. Before that were protests and marches against U.S. bases in Japan, gender inequality in the justice system, and so on and so forth.

The point being, time after time, the ignoramuses out there who spout off that Japanese do not speak out publicly or care about political issues are proven wrong over and over. Yet they continue with their nonsense.

Show some seriousness toward the issue and don't behave like cartoon manga characters.

This is so serious

What are they marching for? There are no records of past millennium's temperatures to compare with in order to show long term global warming.

The marchers ought to put thier energies into protesting rampant child abuse, millions living under the poverty line, lack of govt action to combat mental health issues, ongoing nuclear reactor issues in Fukushima etc.

Ahh, the old “I don’t understand the science behind how they figure out temperatures from before they took records, so it cannot be trusted” illogic.

Seems legit.

It's not that I don't understand the science. It's that I do. It's guesswork based on indirect evidence of past temperatures as the linked article below explains.

The honest scientists will tell you that they are estimating based on what they observe in nature today. Thus it is at best an educated guess which may or may not be accurate.

For scientists to definitely prove a hypothesis beyond any doubt whatsoever and have it universally accepted as incontrovertible fact they must demonstrate observable evidence of the outcome which can be replicated or observed by others. This is absolutely impossible with estimating previous millennia's temperatures simply because they were not recorded.

Remember how in the 70's we were told that we were headed for an ice age? I remember it clearly. Still waiting for it.

Good for them !!.. For the crybabies critizicing, march for something instead moaning..

Yes, because marching will solve all our problems. Why has nobody thought of that before, I wonder?
