Our autumn colours were six weeks ago. I read somewhere that they say climate change will push Kyoto's autumn colours back until Christmas by 2050. I don't like the Japanese habit of pinning seasons to the calendar, e.g., summer ends on August 31st, but autumn colours at Christmas sounds weird.

Walk indeed. Good luck finding anywhere to sit in Ueno Park.

While well past peak, there's still a good bit of color here in Kobe and it's mid-December. We might get there before 2050.
