Hato Bus tour guides pose in front of a tour bus in Tokyo, ahead of Monday's Coming-of-Age national holiday. The young women, who are or will turn 20 by April 1, held their celebration early because they are unable to attend ceremonies during the actual holiday in their hometowns due to work commitments.

Beautiful girls, beautiful kimono. Pity they all have that clone-like pose, though. It make the picture look slighty freaky.

Perfect age. You don't even need to know their names.

Game plan for all of them---marriage. No way for them to move up in this career.

I wanted to ask what is the name of these short overcoats that the girls are wearing over the kimono?
kweto
I don't see any overcoats. Just the furisode (the topmost and colorful layer, with the long sleeves), some layers under that, a faux-fur stole over the shoulders, tabi socks, zouri sandals, and the obi belt (not to mention, unnecessary hair-dye).

"work commitments"
I know all about them.

Ok sorry kweto i meant exactly that. The fury thing around their shoulders does it have a special name as the other parts of the kimono?

Have to agree that we are seeing some lovely looking young women & in very lovely & colourfull Kimonos. We sawt a similiar group just a few days ago at a work pary in lovely & colourful Kimonos. Definaly those Kimonos are lovely & most colourful plus the young women look so nice.
Yes so nice to see honest to gosh.

Where do I board?

Seems to be called a "shawl" ショール or "fur" ファー -- as in "fox-shawl" フォックスショール of "fox-fur" フォックスファー.

Very pretty! And the bus is cute too...

Something wrong with that photo. Not a silly peace sign to be seen anywhere
