Day at the market

Although very meat-centric, don't be put off visiting Tsukiji if you are vegetarian or vegan. It's a fascinating experience, and there should be at least one vendor of sweet potatoes there for some delicious street food. Good for fruit and veg too. Check out the shops nearby, and you might find some friendly, instagrammable pigeons on the walk from the station. The original fish market has moved to Toyosu, so you don't have to go at the crack of dawn any more to enjoy it. Open fronted stalls give it a Showa feel.
