Unfortunately, those who most need that advice won't see this poster, unless they print it on the walkways.

Let people do as they please. If, however, you cause an accident or injury, you should be responsible for it.

Good advice.

When a collision seems imminent, just enjoy it.

Don't walk while texting would better stop them.

This should be a rule thst needs to be actually enforced. Too many phone zombies everywhere, including on the busiest stations and trains.

I've gotten to the point where I've stopped going out of my way to avoid pedestrian collisions with phone zombies. If they can't be bothered to pay even cursory attention to their surroundings while in the very act of moving through them, then the results of the collision are on them. I do come to a stop before impact, though. As a stocky 181cm Westerner, I'm a good bit bigger than the large majority of folks here in Sapporo, so they basically just bounce off.

Surely, Do not Walk whilst looking at your media device, Do not drive with media devices open. Why are media devices not equipped with software to close them when in motion. Apologies to any frequent fliers.

Texting replies probably as it is considered rude not to reply immediately, but this is not just texting, is it?

Thank God Fukuoka is not THAT bad

Is this really such a major problem? I mean, what's the worst thing that's going to happen? You might bump into someone and have to say you are sorry? It's similar to how they go on about smoking while walking - I remember when people used to smoke in packed out bars and on the dancefloor in clubs and even in those situations it was hardly a major issue.

Sometimes I wonder if this country needs more serious day-to-day problems lol. Long term issues abound, but for this to be a focus is oddly cute.

How come there are no Japanese people in the sign? Is it just us foreigners who walk and text (8-) ?

Bret@Your sense of victimhood appears to override your visual acuity.
