Airport staff send off All Nippon Airways' 787 Dreamliner for its maiden Tokyo-San Jose flight at New Tokyo international airport in Narita on Friday night. A number of technical problems have been reported with Boeing's Dreamliner this week. See related story here.

I don't buy new technology went its rolled out, I tend to wait for the next version. Get the kinks out from the first generation.

I wouldn't blink an eye flying on a 787 and hope to experience it. Fuel leaks from the engines etc might not be the aircraft's fault but engine manufacturer's fault (eg Rolls Royce engine) which also experienced an explosion on the A380.

WA4TKG: The Rolls Royce jet engines are actually the ones that have had the most issues. For instance, the one that exploded on a A380 was a RR.

I, becoming a guinea pig? No way, Jose. Have cancelled my innaugural flight leaving on 3/31 to Tokyo. I will go through SFO instead. . There are many issues to be ironed out. Miyagi beef during theDreamliner flight? Thay can have it. No thanks, and I will pass!
