Early reservation

A man sits on a blue tarp Thursday morning to reserve a spot for a "hanami" (cherry blossom viewing) party later in the day in Tokyo's Shibakoen area. It's common for companies to send an employee to the park to save a spot all day for an evening party. That's Tokyo Tower in the background.

I guess that guy messed up recently.

He is probably there to enjoy Hanami and the the drinks in his suitcase.

If he would join the hanami party continuously after basyo-tori or saving the spot, I worry that he would be weary and worn out and can't hold his drink well.

Good spot it would be beautiful at night with sakura and Tokyo Tower.

He's sitting under a bare tree. I guess he will not get tapped next year to do it.

I would see that as a reward. Enjoying a good book on a slow day in the park, awesome.

Those blue tarps under the cherry trees are a real eyesore. Why can't they just sit back and admire the beauty of the cherry blossoms?

I see an opportunity there, what about producing translucent ones ?

Tarps must be blue. You are obviously not Japanese or you wouldn't even bother thinking it.

Really? You are obviously incorrect or colour blind as there is clearly a large green tarp in this photo. Just saying.
