Poor animal! I know they do not usually like to be dressed up. Someone who did it should probably has a child to play with. Or may be some toy would fit better.
Anyway I miss Tokyo, with its streets, polite people and I frankly envy to those people who can enjoy Japanese spring.
I defy anyone to prove that this cat does not get up every morning and dress himself. We don't know that he is dressed up against his will.
I would tell you that my cat dresses himself up but he is just the opposite. He shaves his body about once every four days because he has his eye on this hairless cat that is a neighbor. Just be yourself I tell him. But he seems to think that she wants a metrosexual cat.
is this something for the animal libs to get upset about?
More like something for the kitty to get upset about. From my experience of cats who turn into whirling balls of fur, teeth and razor blades when the world doesn't treat them as they think they should be treated, I should think that the fact that the kitty is dressed like that is in itself evidence that the kitty is not upset about it. Though I would have to ask the owner (or whoever dressed and posed the kitty) to remove the bandages and show me his forearms before I could be sure.
Cats are beautiful animals & should be left as just that, not turned into living toys or baby substitutes. Even if the cat consents (after being tranced) it is still a stupid thing to do to an animal.
cats who turn into whirling balls of fur, teeth and razor blades
Good description, Cleo! I saw my cat in a fight once and just couldn't describe the destruction I saw...unreal how they kick the fur out of each other's bellies in mid-air. Scary.
I made the once in a lifetime mistake of trying to protect my cat from a stupid dog that wandered into the garden. Cleo’s description is spot on & I will never again try to pick up a frightened cat, they may look kawaii but they are in fact incredible good killing machines. They also have no memory, 15 minutes after savaging me she came & sat on my knee for cuddles & got them too. Dressing them up like dolls is pure stupidity, recognising them & loving them for what are can far more rewarding than many may think.
This cat may like attention which it no doubt gets in this outfit. I play a game called "no claws boxing" with my cat. As soon as the telephone rings and it becomes a multi-tasking moment, well her claws come out.
Love - Cats don't cry. You and Nessie have got the wrong idea abut this cat. Do you see a leash on her? If she didn't want to ride that tricycle, she'd be... hey, what the heck is that thing in the sky behind her?
Well Japan has been trying to show it is the centre of the fashion world for years now. I guess feline haute couture (sp?) is one category to lead in. Be proud pussies!
I don't care who she is. I don't care how rich she is. I don't care how goreous she is.
Dressed up cat = Dealbreaker.
For me, it's the tattoo that's a deal breaker (indicates an impulsive girl who doesn't think long term). A girl who dresses up her cat, well that's just fine. And that she has a cat instead of some big slobbering woof-woof dog, even better.
On a nice spring day, such as the one in the photo, my cat much prefers to be in "the killing fields," an overgrown embankment filled with gopher holes.
One of the most irritating things about this picture is that it's absolutely certain that wherever this travesty goes, halfwits will squeak "Kawaii" as though this is some fortuitous happenstance, rather than the fruition of many long lonely evenings in a spinster's loveless living room, and only one of a thousand almost-identical pictures of the same cat in slightly different varieties of pink clothes, all purchased in a vain attempt to drown out the deafening shrieks of the final, futile ova being dispatched into the fruitless endgame of a barren body clock.
And another thing. Since when did cats require a) cloths or b) wheels?

Oh yeah... that cat is having a great time... wonder if they had to "manipulate" it in anyway to get it in that pose?

Nekochan kawaii!

Has that pussy been tied to that trike using an old coat hanger? Animal cruelty!
aj2o1

Somehow I don't think Nekochans care about fashion.

I love how it's tricycle is covered in pictures of mice.

The owner of this cat obviously has too much time on his/herh ands....

The cat has that look: "Kill me now."

Reminds me of an email I got once entitled 'Why cats sometimes attack their owners'.

The owner enjoys taking care of the cat as her child all day long everyday.

Um, did this kitty consent to this costume or is this something for the animal libs to get upset about?

How people feel they can turn a living creature into an accessory is so out of order it defies normal understanding of what an animal is.

Is this cat Japanese?

Like most others I cannot see using a cat in that form. Neither can I see a dog being treated the same let alone another wild animal.
I am a bachelor & love dogs or cats, but I am not able to be home to give them the care, attention & love. So no cat or dog in my home.
USARonin
I don't have a problem with dogs and cats as human companionship and working animals but this just reflects an owner's mind that is rather... unwell.
He or she should not be issued a concealed-carry permit.
