Yukata are a subset of kimono. All yukata are kimono.

Again, yukata are a subset of kimono. Yukata are casual kimono. They are a subset of kimono. All yukata are kimono, but not all kimono are yukata.
Literally the first line from Wikipedia:
浴衣(ゆかた)は、和服(着物)の一種[1]。
Translation: Yukata are a type of Japnaese clothing (kimono).

Note that the 'kimono' in brackets is part of the translation, not my addition. The world kimono (着物) is explicitly stated.
The word its made up of two kanji, 着 - to wear, and 物 - thing. A thing that is worn, or in other words, clothing. However, as western clothing came into Japan, the Japanese term came to refer to traditional Japanese clothing, while the term 服 (ふく fuku), came to be used for western style clothing, and therefore is the word primarily used for clothing today.
