South Korean President Park Geun-hye poses with Japanese Deputy Prime Minister Taro Aso during their meeting at the presidential Blue House in Seoul on Monday. Aso attended Park's inauguration ceremony earlier in the day. Park said she looked forward to building a better relationship with Japan but added that understanding the history between the two nations was important for future cooperation.

Aso is always a best dresser except his Al Capone hat.

Let this be the dawn of a new age of cooperation, peace and friendship between neighbors who share much in the way of culture, knowledge and the hope for the future.

Wonder what they're really thinking behind those forced smiles.

Also-chan sure has a good taste when it comes to wardrobe! Some other J-politicians need a slice of that!

Gotta say, Aso's looking better in these past couple of pics of the day than he ever has. Good photo. Congrats to President Park, and good luck.

They were likely quite civil and believe it or not, might actually like each other.

They probably appreciate each other as they are the same type of persons, same royalty level social class, probably same ideas for many topics... It's likely that neither would give you the time of the day, unless you're at their level.

Wonder what he is thinking?

Just like Anne Hathaway on the stairs to the oscars : "I'm the most beautiful in the universe...".

For her age, she's beautiful.

Some of you seem to get caught up in nationalistic fever. Not all politics is personal. They were likely quite civil and believe it or not, might actually like each other.

Aso should've worn his Al Capone hat. Makes him look ... um ... tougher?

Considering the relations between the two countries, I get the feeling those smiles are really fake.

"If ever I am asked to explain what the expression "grimace of disdain" means, I will use the above picture, and point to President Park's reaction.

Hope Aso doesn't muck things up from here on out. Lets see if he can keep his tongue in chek in check.

I like the fact that we have this picture but headline is about S Koreans boycotting Japanese goods. All i can say is give us back Takeshima.

I don't like such a big smile. Wonder what he is thinking?

They do need to have some grownup talk!!! Forget the kodak moment and get busy deciding our future or our past... whatever is the most pressing!!!
