Ford feeling

U.S. actor and Conservation International Vice Chairman Harrison Ford, left, shakes hands with Japan's Environment Minister Ryu Matsumoto during a reception hosted by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund on the sidelines of the meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 10) in Nagoya on Tuesday. In a speech, Ford, 68, said pressure on political leadership was needed to save forests, oceans and rivers that are home to nature's rich diversity of species underpinning livelihoods. "One of the reasons I've come is because I want to urge the United States government to sign the treaty," he said, referring to the Convention on Biological Diversity that went into in force in 1993, which the U.S. has not ratified. Ford has had the ant species Pheidole harrisonfordi named after him in a nod to his work as a conservationist.

One might care about our environment, the other just pays it lip service.

Ford plays very natural when his role is the bad nasty guy! I never thought he would care about the environment.

He sort of looks a bit like GWB

They're both white males of a certain age. There the similarity stops.

When asked by reporters how he enjoyed the flight to Nagoya, he replied, "Traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy!"

I'll bet the first thing he said when he arrived in Japan was "Kirin biru o kudasai!" Anyone else remember that one?

It's good to see this reunion between Han Solo and Greedo. "I've been looking forward to this for a long time." "Yes, I bet you have."
