I've seen a lot of these weight loss type centers in parts of Asia. Looks like obesity is a growing epidemic. Too much fast food is no good.

rjd_jr, it's a fitness club, not a 'weight loss center' per se. Please read the caption.

How much to bet most of these people were signed up for a membership? ;)

Tipness staff, please memorize the following sentence; You`re too fat, join our gym.

All I see is bored housewives... and a taxi driver...

Well... wouldn't know about that, I'd be there getting a check up too, if I actually KNEW about it beforehand. Keeping fit and living healthy is on everyone's minds, isn't it? Agreed on the growth of fastfood joints in Asia as a whole though, better curb that double mega Big Mac every once in a while, lol!

Am I fat? Yes, buy our products. Ok.

The taxi driver had just crashed his taxi into the promotion in Shibuya station and ended up there accidentally. Trying desparately to avoid the 'gaijin' trying to hail his cab.

Probably the check is done by filling some paper, e.g. putting check-marks. And, oh what a surprise, there might be also a membership application in comparable format attached. Benri ne?

I'm offering free checks on the second floor of my office. If you take the elevator, you fail.

Please, can we ban the term "metabolic syndrome". Why say in 6 syllables what you can say in just one: FAT.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Ah, actually it's "fat and inactive".

I guess that none of them have metabolic syndrome. It usually occurs in obese people who have a resistance to insulin or have diabetes.

The real debu ones will not go to such place.

Metabolic syndrome? or could it be the extras sweets, junk food and a sedintary lifestyle perhaps. There aren't near as many true porkers here as back home but it's changing. I used to see people that I would consider chubby but in the past few years I've started to see people who would be classed morbidly obese. For what it's worth no one in this photo seems to have a problem in my view. This whole thing is an excuse for the customers and a way to make money for the weight loss centers. Eat sensibly and get some moderate exercise, problem solved.

Fast food nation is unfortunately becoming fast food first world. Caveat Emptor.

"Well, fatty-fatty boomsticks, here's your application form."

Caveat porker.

LOL!
