Strange how they campaign together. They are supposed to be rivals.

Kan looks like a security guard.

XXXXX

'I promise you that everything that I say is utter BS and lies'.
Lunchbox
He stole that hand bopping gesture from Slim Shady. (Cue 8 mile battle-scene soundtrack).

Journalist: Ozawa, when are you gonna speak up about the political funds allegations?
Ozawa: Talk to the haaand .
herefornow
How do you know when Ozawa is lying? Simple, his lips are moving.
tigerguy
herefornow - I quess that applies to all Japanese politicians

I predict Ozawa is gonna be bumped off by the yaks in a "payback" before the election is contested...you read it here first.

Perhaps he thinks he has an advantage dressed formally. Old habits die hard.

Kan loos way too confident. I guess he is just sitting by to let Ozawa put the shoe in his mouth to stink up the community with his empty words and fake promises.

To BurakuminDes,
"I predict Ozawa is gonna be bumped off by the yaks in a "payback" before the election is contested...you read it here first."
Are you a US citizen? If you are, you are the second American that mentioned a "political assassination" of former Sec Gen Ozawa. Are the US Bases on Okinawa that important?
apecNetworks
The tone of some of the posts connotes "desperateness?".
apecNetworks
That would explain more clearly why Def. Sec. Gates lost his "cool".

I don't want to hog this thread, but I can give some insight into Japanese politics. Around the time former PM Hatoyama took office,, someone in Japan came to the US West Coast, and had to give me info on former FM Kawaguchi, who was pivotal in the Koizumi Cabinet in negotiating the 2006 US Base Agreement. Futenma is like, the Twilight Zone.
BurakuminDes
Absolutely not, apecNetworks! But I suspect Ozawa will be bumped by Japanese not gaijin - he has many, many enemies in Japan.
