Halloween is such an ugly celebration.

Halloween is such an ugly celebration.
HUH? I was thinking just the opposite -- that I miss Japan on Halloween when all the normally hot eye-candy looks even hotter.

Now that is a very good picture indeed.

I love the effort the ojisan went to dressing up as a cop. He's obviously still young at heart!!
Alex80
I live in Italy and it's gaining popularity also here. it's annoying, you have all these strangers who knock on your door for candies, they disturb your privacy and it can be dangerous. I love All Saints' Day and our sober way to pay respects to the deceased, not this materialistic "show". If we want to wear nice costumes we already have Carnival, that is wonderful. Sorry, but to me Halloween celebration is empty and it's ruining our way to honor our deceased loved ones. In Japan there's Obon, but at least Halloween doesn't happen close to Obon. in Italy All Saints' Day shouldn't be ruined by Halloween.

Love those goofy Japanese babes.

I'm happy China will be the next first super-power. I bet it won't force its culture on the other countries like the US do.

@scipantheist: you are implying in the West there's not censorship and propaganda. This is why the West is failing.

Love it!

@scipantheistI: it's clear you are the one who doesn't believe in the rights of the individual, the saddest thing is that you are oblivious.
Alex80
I believe in the rights of the individual. I don't know about you. And I don't know why you can tell me something like that without being censored and I can't reply you using your same words without being censored.

This is a decent pic, given the regular chaos at that Shibuya crossing, let alone at Hallowe'en. That old guy wouldn't be able to do a thing in that throng.

Very nice costume by the girl up front with the cap, white halter top, magazine clips and boots!

Nice to see young people having some harmless fun. The world needs more of this kind of thing.

Anybody know if they still do the Halloween parties on the Tokyo and Osaka Loop Lines?
Bad2Dbone

I guess guns are back in style now, unless you try to use 3D printers to make them.

Oh come on Alex80 - its one day, in the whole year, everyone gets to dress up and goof around. God knows, the Japanese need that more than anyone. From what I hear there was next to no trouble and everyone had a great time. Here in the US, the kids just had a blast last night and everyone entered into the spirit of things, people had just as much fun handing out the candy as the kids did taking it. Some of the house decorations looked incredible. Parents were all out on the street chatting and laughing while the kids zipped all over the place, and the police turned a blind eye to the open cans of beer and glasses of wine people were carrying around while they kept an eye on the kids. And anyone who doesnt want to take part just doesnt decorate their house and goes out. No big deal. We had a fantastic time, and NOW is the day to remember the dead. I know my dear departed would be most peed off if we called off the party misguidedly in their "honour". Except my grandma, but then she was a witch EVERY day of the year...

@NathalieB:
This sounds so...disturbing. The mood should be sober during all these days.

How do you know that is a police officer and not yet just another cosplayer?
