The changing of the seasons is VERY lovely.

I was up there yesterday morning and I can tell you it was cold. I could dip my hiking poles into the snow.

A beautiful shot of Mt. Fuji.
Just got back from Alaska........lots of snow up there, year round. First trip we've taken in a year and a half.

Yeah and it was amazing!
The climbing season normally lasts till mid October. But there are only a few huts open till then.
You could even climb during the snow season but you'd need to understand what goes with that (gear, challenges and consequences).

Um, there was snow on it last week when I flew back from Kanazawa. Nice photo though.

This could be a sign/hint of a very good Ski season!!

We've had tons of rain, over 500mm, since Aug 8, with very few summer days since then. I'm no fan of a normal hot Japanese summer, but I'd like it hotter and drier than this. Red hot is much better than rain all the time.
Autumn in Japan is fantastic, so I hope we have a dry and sunny one. I'll start thinking about snow for skiing on Dec 8, not Sep 8.

25 days earlier than ‘average’! So normally this would happen at the beginning of October.
Does that warn us to prepare for a colder winter?

Here is the URL to webcams around Kofu.

I usually go to the overall site for the real-time weather information. But it is nice to have scenic pictures to go with the data.
Nice to get outside, even when you can't.

Did you go to the top? I know it's just outside of the season so should be still possible.

Nic pic. Global warming be damned!

I saw it myself on the trip into work yesterday.......earliest I can remember seeing significant snow up there in the 20 years I have been here
