What is the over under on how long this cabinet will stay in power? Also it looks like Renho is hesitant about becoming a member of this group. Maybe she is having second thoughts.

The minister in charge of cutting wasteful spending will be one busy lady if she actually does her job.

Prime Minister Naoto Kan looks at Renho,

Renho? Is she like Madonna, Sting, and Cher - able to get by with a one-word name? Or has the minister in charge of cutting wasteful spending decided that much government ink can be saved if we all eliminate half of our names?

First move in cutting wasteful expenses - cut your hair short so you won't have to visit the saloon for at least a year.

Fadamor at 12:04 AM JST - 9th June Renho? Is she like Madonna, Sting, and Cher - able to get by with a one->word name?

It's actually Ren Ho, a Chinese name as her father is/was Taiwanese and mother Japanese. Former "talent" and TV announcer apparently. She's actually quite sharp and a zillion times easier on the eyes than that Fukushima Mizuho.

I like her myself. She is rather pretty. Certainly easier on the eyes then anyone else up there. Not sure how well she's going to manage her job. Theres so much wasteful spending that can and should be cut. A lot of other spending that ought to be cut as well, but I doubt that Japan will impose austerity measures until they are forced to like Greece.

How much did the minister of cutting wasteful spending spend on her outfit, including her shoes and her handbag, or were they paid for by taxpayers? I guess that is one way to cut wasteful spending, spend somebody else's money.

Kan does not hold the facial expression of a confident leader in this pose. It's more like "huh, what do I do now?"
