This bus reminds me of a happier time, pre-covid.

Agreed, jojo. So, does cycling without a full-on mask in the summer & autumn months. Oh well, must do exercise daily to stay healthy and move on from this current plague.

Looks like only 50% in the accompanying photo are wearing it correctly. There was BIG Japanese media through the news yesterday pointing out cyclists may be catching it/spreading it as the ride by. Oh well, let’s all do our part, right?

A double-decker bus used for advertising

Didn't it used to be a "party bus" full of foreign tourists pre-COVID? Saw it cruising around Shibuya a few times with flashing lights and drunks leaning out the windows.

No passengers = waste of petrol;; waiting at a red light to make a right turn (legal in many countries) = waste of petrol; unnecessary travel. ALL = CLIMATE CHANGE.

The Routemaster bus was a remarkably efficient shape and size for the city and attempts to replace it in the UK have not been very successful. Despite the retro look, it does seem at home on the streets of Tokyo.

It has been known to exceed the height limit of many bridges in the UK too :-)

I thought that the Routemaster exceeded the height limit in Japan
