I find Korean women so boring in appearance. They all seem to have been manufactured under a plastic surgeon's knife and carved into a Korean male's ideal of beauty, which as some commentators have already mentioned, is something between a cross of a barbie doll and a pekinese dog.

Japanese women have far more variety in their appearance just because they have less plastic surgery.

And yes Smithinjapan maybe right, more Japanese women have plastic surgery but I think if you did a little research, you would find that the major difference is in the ages that they have the plastic surgery done. Japanese women have most of their plastic surgery in their 30s, 40s and 50s, to mantain their youthful appearance. Korean women have more plastic surgery done in their teens and 20s, to completely alter their mongolian features.

When posters are referring to J-Pop, are they talking about idol groups/singers only? I ask because the likes of YUI, Scandal and Stereopony are great and are actually talented musicians and writers, as well as having good vocals.

I dunno, I like the look of well done blonde or other non-jet colors of hair on Asians. Not for everyone, of course, but on the right people, and done properly, it looks cool in a kind of alien way - shakes up my expectations and complacency about looks.

Don't worry K-pop groups such as this only have a shelf life of around 5 years and this group only has about 2yrs left. And Dog is right. Groups like this is a perfect example of rampant plastic surgery that has been rooted in South korean culture. It has become completely normal for girls such as these to undertake hours of surgery and augmentation to get the "ideal" look.

Its sad because the leading cause of death for young people in South korea is suicide. Fact

I have noticed that K-pop groups tend to be much more "professional," for lack of a better term, than their J-pop counterparts.

K-pop girl groups in south korea only have a shelf life of about 5 years so this group only has around 2years before they will be replaced with a younger singers.

What does that say about the surgery tourists coming from Japan to Korea. The Chinese according to a few articles have outnumbered the Japanese recently. I was using the international numbers. Per capita stats mean nothing. Especially with Korea and definitely with the Chinese.

Bring on the hate! By the way, Japanese get more plastic surgery than South Koreans, just so you know. There are in fact 'plastic surgery tours' Japanese take because it's cheaper to fly and have it done there than to do so at Kawasaki or Takase clinics here.

They are just AKB wannabes.
