An artwork of rabbits pounding "mochi" (rice cakes), decorated with 20 grams of 24K gold, is displayed at Ginza Tanaka jewelry store in Tokyo's Ginza. The store unveiled artwork, sized at 3.2 cm in height and 5 cm in width, to mark the year of the rabbit in 2011.

my mom told me when i was a little girl that 2 rabbits are pounding mochi on the moon.. i used to try and look at the moon to see if i could see the 2 rabbits :)) some childhood memory..

Pretty poor miniature sculpture/casting, no detail at all, I wonder if it wasn't for the fact it's gold if it would attract any attention. Lots of small jeweler/craftsmen here that produce far more intricate and detailed work but usually are limited to working with silver.

compare to the Goto school of metal artist ( Edo Period ), this rabbit thingie is pure garbage ( except for the gold content )
