I wasn't trying to be racist, to play on the Japanese side you need to be Japanese so I was saying that you can become a Japanese citizen instantly if you are good at soccer, yet 3rd generation Koreans or others can not

Instantly?

And no. The 3rd generation Koreans or others can become Japanese but they chose not to do so.

Tanaka, like the rest of the immigrants who wanted to become Japanese, waited for their prerequisites to be fulfilled before applying for citizenship.

That eye-makeup to me looks like ancient egyptian makeup than Japanese eyes.

As a Japanese, I don't find the girls' faces offensive but adorable. Perhaps because they all look good in an exotic way.

gogogo and I do not have a problem understanding what we were trying to say to each other.

The rest of your analysis is a little excess i think. Yes, I do understand that to you there is a defined line between Japanese and non-Japanese, Canadian and not Canadian :)

Moderator: Back on topic please.

And yes, there is something a little bit wrong with how the girls' faces re made up.

womanforwoman: ".I think that the real Japanese love him more than you do. Have you got any kids by the way?"

I find if funny that this statement about REAL Japanese follows immediately on your 'he's a real sportsmen. The rest doesn't matter' comment.

I think what Gogogo is trying to say is that s/he's a bit irked at how someone who is a talented athlete can bypass all the red tape and become a Japanese national, while others have a lot more difficulty becoming so -- and even then are still often not recognized as being 'Japanese'. Third generation Koreans CAN play for the Japanese team, of course, but would have to naturalize first.

Anyway, best of luck to the Japanese. I think Tulio is a good hearted person, as is indicative from the interviews, but I don't think he's all that particurlarly talented a soccer player.

Sorry, gogogo, but you have been misinformed.

Don't know... but these girls give me an uneasy feeling.

Somethings not politically correct about those girls. Just look at the makeup they are wearing. A white face and slanted eyes. I don't remember the Japanese painting their faces black and wearing dreadlocks to welcome their African guests in 2002.

Gurukun: Cause he is fake Japanese...

Would you say 3/4 of the French team are fake French then? ie...Evra, Gallas, Diarra, Anelka, Cisse, and even Henry.

womanforwoman: Just don't like the fact you can instantly become "japanese" if you play soccer...

ok gogogo. We all tend to discriminate on the basis of anything. As long as he doesn7t dance like the AKB48 gals, I will like any man :)

womanforwoman: I didn't say he wasn't

gogogo, he happens to be a good sportsman. The rest does not matter.I think that the real Japanese love him more than you do. Have you got any kids by the way?

IronBeard, that's true, just the strikers score to the opponent's goal...

When did he join the J-league? Its a good gig for him. Could he have made the Brazil?

he's sexy, but he looks way hotter with short hair...

Tulio! Kawashima! The two pillars of the Japanese team.

Did you know he's a defender? Wouldn't have thought so - he seems to score more goals than the strikers.
