Guitar smash

Members of comedy group Yasuda Dai Sakasu and rock band Dohatsuten attend the "Smash All Stars Live" event at UNIT in Daikanyama, Tokyo, for the release of the special guitar "SMASH." The guitar is specially made for destroying by fans who like to imitate the on-stage antics of some of their favorite singers. It sells for 5,000 yen.

What I want to smash is not the guitar. It's the TV whenever these sort of idiots appear.

That is why I don't watch Jtv comedians, sooo stressful.

ahocchau,

We are talking about mainstream TV, both Jero and the other young man are featured on a lot of mainstream TV shows. Boyle's music is not Top of the Pops either.

I agree with your game show comment though. I prefer regular people on shows like Attack 25. There is a show called Nodo Jiman in which only amatuers participate. I do agree that the talent agencies do hold sway though.

Ratings are a factor, I also know this for a fact. To say otherwise is unrealistic. If sponsors know no one will see their CM, they won't sponsor the show. Of course, this is probably much less than you are used to in your own country. However, to say it is not a factor would be incorrect. Popular people stay on TV, unpopular ones don't.

ahocchau,

While I agree with your comment about the absolutely unbreakable connection between talent offices and TV stations (in many cases one and the same organization), the Japanese beholders do count as well. If they find something interesting, it stays. If they don't, it goes. It is basic economics.

Moronic TV programs such as this quickly get voted off the screen by my remote control. It's a simple solution that has always served me well. Sadly, though, I think I'm in a minority who don't need the box on in the background while I go about my domestic business.

As to humour, it is in the eyes of the beholders.

Actually, in Japan the beholders do not count. The relations between the telent offices and TV stations are all that count.

You will never see a nobody like the Boyle woman or a show like American Idol here, because those stories undercut the talent offices here, who own entertainment (if you can call it that) in Japan.

That is why tards like Nakai from SMAP can call themselves "singers."

Most music shops sell crappy guitars for the same or cheaper prices. People can smash those if they want.

As to humour, it is in the eyes of the beholders. Maybe Japanese people just don't explain it well. The people are not thought of as funny because they are on TV. They are on TV because they are thought of as funny.

Look at that picture. The bloke in the white shirt. Even he seems to be thinking, "I'm getting on TV for doing this?"

The tragedy is that the docile populus have this kind of circular reasoning.

These people are on TV. Therefore they are popular. Thus they should be on TV.

I have had dental treatment more amusing than watching this bunch of gurning retards.

But why try to produce anything more challenging, when the ovine hordes have been conditioned to agree this is all they require?

People genuinely believe that, as these gurning morons are on TV, they must be ipso facto funny. Had this conversation with Mrs. Coughalot. She said "They are on TV because people like them".

I asked her "When were you, or anyone you have ever known, consulted about who you'd like to see on TV?"

She replied "They are on TV, so they must be popular".

There really is no talking to this herd of sedated drones. All critical faculties have been removed.

Pulling funny faces is amusing when you are four. If you do not allow the mind to develop after that age, you have a servile populus.

Magnificent social engineering.

5,000 yen to smash up a fake guitar? Yeah, okay...whatever.

When you try so hard to look "funny by pulling silly faces, you know you need help. Guitar smash sounds such a laugh, yawn.....

This 'comedy' group would have troubles being less funny.

"I know what would be reeeallly funny: let's through confetti in the air every time we make a 'joke' "

Yeah, that's reeeaallly funny guys.

The group is as disposable as the guitars they are promoting.

Go back to hosting t.v. programs for infants wankers.
