Happy fans

I was watching the game witha huge crowd who were chanting “Noppon” in Nissan Stadium of Yokohama yesterday morning.

However, it was a roller-coaster experience for Samurai Blue’s fans. In the end, the game was a quite dispirited blue one for many feverish fans.

Hopefully, the team can win the next match with Greece.

I'm guessing they're trying to mimic the shape of the FIFA WC Brazil's logo, but I could be wrong, and not sure why the white. To me they look like bowling pins or other things I probably should say.

That is the beauty of the World Cup, Smith. It's all about sportsmanship and not about politics.

But as you have proven, to some that doesn't matter.

Noticed you lost a 'g' in your name. Anyway, I was cheering the whole time, for BOTH sides. Given the difficulty level of the Americas group Canada never has a chance of getting in, so I'm a free agent when it comes to cheering. I cheered for both teams, but Cote D'Ivoire was definitely the better of the two, and my point, as well as others who pointed it i out, is that this picture comes immediately after Honda's goal. How about some shots from later? or better yet, some shots from later of fans in general (of both nations)?

I reckon they are still having a good time. I would love to be there.

The world cup is a time when all animosities should be put aside. I've been watching it since I was a child and my birth nation's team has never gotten even close. Last time they qualified was back before the 1940's.

But that has never stopped my family and me from routing for another nation's team. The teams I rout for are either Ecuador, Argentina o Uruguay. Darn it, my Spanish side is shinning through.

The World Cup is suppose to be about friendship and sportsmanship and not about silly politics.

La Copa Mundial de Fútbol es un tiempo para friendship and friendly competition and not a time for politics. Put it aside for now Smith. Put it down for now and enjoy what the world can be like if politics and bigotry didn't exist.

The nation of my birth didn't make it again, been over 70 years since they did anything.

I heard some cheering for Japan in the first half, but not sure how that would help the team that ultimately lost. I have no doubt there are a lot of Japanese and Japanese descendants there that were cheering in the stands, but it didn't save them in the end, not like it should have anyway. Depending on support to save yourself means you are unable to do it yourself.

This was the video shot of them cheering after Honda's goal. How about a shot of them at the end of the game? Congrats to Cote D'Ivoire! On the plus side, they face Greece next, who was equally as terrible at ball handling, so the mighty Samurai might have a chance yet, and if they win that might just bolster them enough to play well against Columbia.

They cheered until they saw Japan choked against a terrible team that was nonexistent until then.

Japan is the underdog even though they are in an easy group. Columbia and Ivory Coast should go to the next round.

Japan seemed to be underdog until Honda scored the first shoot.Even though his shoot made team's ambition good, Japan's performance didn't cut it. Japan was close but no cigar. Too bad! It just proves that anything can happen in sports.
