I have learned airfares from US/Asia are higher before Chinese New Year. After it is over then the airfare prices normally drop.

Chinese lions are supposed to reflect the emotions of the lion, whereas Western depictions reflect the appearance.

I don't know why, but the Chinese language conflates "lion" and "dog" readily. The famous Shih Tzu breed is literally "Lion dog".

I think that is perhaps because the dog looks like a Chinese lion.

I don't know why its name became "lion dance" in English but it is in fact a mythical animal called " kirin" in Japanese, I think.
