I've heard that most of building window cleaners are rock climbers as ordinary people can't do it well.

Usually people applying for jobs at great heights such as high buildings, bridges, etc. are given an initial test of just going high up. Not freaking out means you're about 99% qualified.

It seems the Japanese are so into X-MAS but Japan is the only country that doesn't take the 25th off.....

I have a first rate santa outfit, complete with white gloves, wire rim specs on the end of my nose etc. I went to my local post office, dressed up (as pre-arranged) and the staff were delighted, wanting to pose for pictures with me. Then I had to go to the AU shop to pay my keitai bill, but didn't have time to change ........
The looks I got there, and the clerk who served me, looked very worried, as if I were about to start stabbing people and make off with as many iphone 5s as I could grab. They didn't know how to react, confronted with Father Christmas.

Ewan, they might have been afraid they were on some Dokkiri Camera TV show! ;-D
Simon, it's what's in your heart that counts. There are just so many obstacles to having most Japanese people have a 'real ' Christmas...small ovens, no tradition of either roast beef or turkey, baking, the emotional/nostalgic framework just aren't there. My in-laws dislike turkey, so we've had everything from sukiyaki to Indian take out for Christmas. Dessert is always my mother's cakes and cookies, and I won't budge on the huge tree or the Nativity set. It's enough. We're together, well, happy...after that everything's gravy.

I hope Japanese people will be able to relax during this special time in the year, and there will be no deaths from overworking.
