British actor Hugh Grant, 49, poses with Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama's wife Miyuki and comedian Hiroyuki Amano during an event at the Maru Building Hall on Monday night to promote his latest film, "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" Grant said Japanese women held a special place in his heart "because they have always liked my movies when no on else did." He said that during this visit he was getting a lot of questions about marital infidelity and relationships. He expressed surprise that men cheating on their wives was considered part of the culture in Japan. "Of course, men do it like rabbits in France and Italy, too, but they are more discreet," he said. "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" opens in Japan on March 12.

Fadamor on Amano's suit :)

I remember reading on JT posts, that marital infidelity is ok. One poster even said that when the wife is pregnant the husband has a relationship with atleast 20. Then the Tigerwoods incident some posters were strongly arguing that women have to accept that men are this way. So I am begining to change my way of thinking that it is ok for a man to have x number of relationships. As for Hugh Grant, I am not going to react for Hugh's infidelity.

“because they have always liked my movies when no on else did.”

was his intention to praise Japanese taste? It sounded quite the contrary, haha.

That is British self-deprecation at its best. An amusing comment. As is:

He said that during this visit he was getting a lot of questions about marital infidelity and relationships.

I'll bet he is, and has been ever since... He handles it well though.

Wasn't she an actress? I guess she still enjoys rubbing elbows with celebrities. Does look sexy for a woman her age (66!)

Amano needs to give up that suit he bought when he was in high school. If those buttons on his jacket are strained any more he's going to put someone's eye out when they pop-off.

And OK, I actually chuckled when I noticed the title of this comment field. ("Add a comment to Hughman touch"). Sounds like JT is wondering what Hugh's left hand is doing as well! :-)

What kind of BS is that... I guess the guy asking the question wanted to get that out there for being caught.

I think I'll give it a fortnight and then not watch the DVD either. I was thinking about going to see this, but then I realised I had more pressing desires to break all of my own fingers.

"men cheating on their wives was ( is ) considered part of the culture in Japan"

This implies that most husbands cheat on their wives. Many do, but most don't.

"men do it like rabbits in France and Italy"

Male rabbits in France and Italy cheat on their partners?

"Where is his other hand?"

At his side, of course!
